Koen Naert
Long distance, Olympic Games
Koen Naert is a Belgian athlete who specialises in long-distance running.
He began his athletics career while still young and from an early age dreamt of taking part in major athletics meetings. After years of hard training, he succeeded in qualifying for the Olympic Games, where he eventually took part in two Olympic marathons. In addition to his impressive performances at the Games, he successfully competed in other major competitions, including the European Championships in 2018, where he won the gold medal.
His perseverance and dedication to his sport helped him to become one of the leading Belgian athletes of his day.
Why does Koen opt for TGA?
- I believe that performance at the highest level is only possible with a healthy mind in a healthy body.
- Our body is our best guide, but we need to listen to it free from any background ‘noise’.
- That is why I believe it is crucial to treat your body in the purest possible way, at one with nature and with a focus on authenticity.
- I see this vision reflected in The Green Athlete products, which are as close as they can be to the pure power of nature.
Koen’s favourites
Electrolytes
Hydration is about more than simply taking in fluids. It is important that the fluids contain a correctly balanced mix of electrolytes. In this way, your electrolyte balance and energy levels are kept constantly topped up.
Citrulline
I like to use Citrulline an hour before a long training session. Citrulline improves blood flow, reduces acidification in the muscles and increases endurance. Which is exactly what I need during longer sessions.
Pre-Workout
An all-in-one booster for performance at the highest level. The pure power of nature gathered into a single potent mix.
Nasal strips
For me, breathing has always been something to which I pay close attention. That is why I have been using nasal strips for years, long before they found their way into use with the general public. The nasal strips from The Green Athlete open your nose in a natural manner, so that I can breathe more easily during training sessions and competition. You can feel it immediately: a calmer breathing rhythm and greater focus. Not a hype as far as I am concerned, but an important part of my fixed routine.
